Teething Tips With Ziggle
For babies, teething isn’t always an easy journey, but it’s an inevitable part of your baby’s development! Here at Ziggle, we have put together a number of tips for you to try to help sooth your little one during this time!
But first things first, how to tell your baby is teething:
- Sore or tender gums
- Irritability
- Chewing
- Drooling
- Drool rash around the mouth
It’s a good idea to check your child’s gums for any bumps which is a sign of newly surfacing teeth.
If your baby seems uncomfortable or in pain whilst teething here are some solutions that may help:
Teether
Teethers are made to help sooth your baby’s gums. A good tip is to put them in the fridge to chill but do not freeze the teether as they may become too hard and could harm your baby’s gums. You can shop our teethers here.
Rub the gums
Using a clean finger or a cool spoon, rub your little one’s gums to help relieve some pain.
Milk Popsicles
While teething, babies may not eat due to the discomfort they are experiencing. A tip includes freezing breast milk or formula to make milk popsicles. Tip: Milk popsicles can become very messy, make sure your little one is wearing a super absorbent dribble bib!
Fruit
If your little one has been introduced to solid foods, try freezing some fruits to help sooth their gums. A great place to start is frozen mashed bananas. If your little one is old enough, try some chilled apple slices or strawberries.
Lastly, Cuddles!
Is there anything a cuddle can’t fix? Providing a calm and relaxed environment will help your little one relax and fall asleep.
